Albany Adult School Beginning Birding class spent a chilly and gray 2.5 hours this morning at Coyote HIlls, beginning at 8:00 AM. Other than a RT hawk perched on a rock at the very beginning, we saw NO raptors, which was disappointing. We did get good looks at Common Yellowthroats and Marsh Wrens, saw five heron species, and the surprise of the morning was the single White-faced Ibis?in the ponds north of the hill across from the VIsitor's Center.?Nests of Black Phoebe, Barn Swallow, Marsh Wren, and Black-necked Stilt, young European Starlings, Tree Swallows, and Canada Geese, and many singing birds made the morning fun and interesting.

Oh, and the skunk near Hoot Hollow, after seeing us from 15 feet away decided it was outnumbered and slipped away into the underbrush.

    Good Birding!
