    This morning (Apr 19, 2009), we had 2 good sightings along the 
    Sobrante Ridge Trail at Sobrante Ridge Regional Preserve:
    
    - SWAINSON'S HAWK (appeared to be a light-morph juvenile).  This is 
    the furthest west I've seen this species.  Came from the south, 
    circled above us a couple times, and was last seen heading north.
    
    - HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER.  Seen just south of the junction with the 
    Broken Oak Trail.
    
    On the non-bird front, 2 separate 3-ft gopher snakes were seen in the 
    trail, enjoying the warm weather I'm sure.
