    Hi E.B. Birders,

There was an Olive-sided Flycatcher on the east side of Round Top in Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve this morning.? The bird was not vocalizing, but was seen in good light.? It was flycatching from a snag near the steeper part of the rocky trail, just south of the green gate. This is the first one I've seen this season.? Teri Wills in our Albany Adult School Birding by Ear class was the first to spot it.

We also had the opportunity to study the songs of distant MacGillivray's Warbler, Rufous-crowned Sparrow and nearby Lark Sparrows, and take note the incredible variation between Bewick's Wrens' songs. We watched a House Wren sing within only a few feet, and we enjoyed a pair of Pygmy Nuthatch tossing out wood fibers from a hole in a eucalyptus snag.
