This afternoon I was birding around Lake del Valle. Probably 100+ swallows
were feeding just above the choppy water. From what I could see it was a mix
of Northern Rough-winged and Violet-green. The swallows were concentrated in
a area of the lake and nowhere else. They would fly just above the rough
water into the stiff breeze then swirl up and go downwind and repeat.
The lake has filled in the past two weeks and the creek is flowing with
    custom.
    Good birding.
