At Oyster Bay today, I noticed the male Allen's Hummingbird has returned to his usual spot. Go up the paved path from the park entrance and take the nature area grassy trail. To the left is a large stand of Coyote Bush with several dead snags. It likes to survey from there.

Farther along the path to the right, you will see a square metal post (function?) with a red painted top. A Say's Phoebe hunts from there fairly often.

The Northern Flicker, and two "companions", often perches in the leafless poplar trees on the paved path up the hill to your right. I've only seen one in years past. They are a bit skittish which is why I caught this female heading out.
