For the past week or so there have been a foraging pair of hooded mergansers
    in Pinole Creek, Pinole.

They can be seen by accessing the Pinole Creek walking path near Fernandez
Park. Driving directions: From I-80 take the Pinole Valley road Exit. Turn
NW onto Pinole Valley Road/Tennent Avenue. Continue on Tennent past San
Pablo Ave. There is a parking lot for the Park on the east side of Tennent
    Street.

Follow the creek downstream to beyond a RR viaduct. The mergansers have
been downstream of the RR bridge crossing.

If you follow the path to San Pablo bay, you may catch sight of some Black
Oystercatchers and other gems nearby the sewage treatment plant.

    Good Birding,
