This morning before 11:30, Paul and Nancy Schorr joined me in viewing the
White-throated Sparrow in Heather Farm Park, Walnut Creek. It comes out of
the low scrub oak in the triangle between two sections of the biking/walking
path just south of the footbridge over the Contra Costa Canal. Today there
were 5 sparrow species present, the White- and Golden-crowned Sparrows, Song
Sparrow, the White-throated Sparrow and a Spotted Towhee. Earlier I saw a
Lincoln's Sparrow near the northeast corner of the large pond.

While Paul, Nancy and I were there, the Red-shouldered Hawks copulated high
in the eucalyptus trees above the sparrow corner. All of this is between
the dog park area and the parking lot for the north ball fields.
