This afternoon the Redhead Duck was not on the Wente Pond in Livermore.
There were a American Wigeon, Gadwall and Mallards.
Across from the pond was a nice herd of 17 deer.
The single male was wearing a six point set of antlers, there was an equal
number of adult females and juveniles.
I heard reports of the Redhead Duck wintering in past years on the Del
Valle Creek near the Bernal St. Bridge in Pleasanton..
This area is my way home so I drove to the Pleasanton BMX Park.
You can park in side the gated area, there is a public entrance to the
    creek.
Walk east to the large pond and there I found the/a Redhead Duck about 1PM.
There was also a thick coat Red Fox sunning itself in that area.
Western Pond Turtles were out sunning also.
Other interesting birds were three Ring-necked Ducks, three Say Phoebes,
thirty eight America White Pelicans, a Hutton's Vireo.
As I was getting out of the car in my driveway a Coppers Hawk came through
and scared up 40 + Cedar Waxwing.
A late report from last Sunday at 2PM on the grounds of the new Alviso
Adobe on Foothill Rd. in Pleasanton.
The park is 7 acres with a few old Oaks, in the Oaks were 20+ Yellow-rumped
Warblers , both the Myrtle and Audubon type, 250+ Cedar Waxwings and 95
    American Robins.
    Have a nice weekend,
