    Happy New Year all,
    Sat.PM to the South of Powell St along the rip-rap roosting area was a  small 
    flock of American Wigeons, very close to shore.  Among them was one  male 
    Eurasain Wigeon.  Also large rafts of Scaup and Ruddies.   Roosting were the 
    usual Willets, Godwits, some Whimbrels and one Dunlin and a  Spotted Sandpiper.
    Today, Sun. PM at low tide at Point Emery on the South side and at the  point 
    were 2 pairs of Black Oystercatchers and a small flock of Black  Turnstones.  
    Also, more Wigeons , but no Eurasians.
     
    At Ceasar Chavez the Burrowing Owl is very cooperative in the newly fenced  
    off area, near the bend in the path. Aloong with the Ruddies, Buffleheads and  
    Scaups were some female Common Goldeneyes
     
    In the Meadow area was a a Red Tail Hawk perched in a tree and two White  
    Tailed Kites, perched in a low tree to the north of the trail, being harrassed  
    by a Raven.  Also seen were lots of White Crowned Sparrows, a Song Sparrow  and 
    an Orange Crowned Warbler. A Brown Pelican flew  over.
