    Good morning,

Can anyone tell me if there have been any recent sightings of the Bittern?

I have not been out to Contra Loma, so if anyone can provide directions to
the location(s) where we could expect to see the Bittern it would be
appreciated. We have kayaks, so if sightings are better from the water
    side, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Kim

    Good morning birders,

Yesterday morning four birders had very nice views of an American
    Bittern at Contra Loma
Reservoir. This bird was most likely the same one that was reported
    on January 20. After four
hours of casual birding we tallied an additional 47 species which
    included the following
noteworthy birds: Greater White-fronted Goose, Glaucous-winged Gull,
    Virginia Rail and Burrowing
    Owl.

    Good birding,
    Paul Schorr, Antioch
