Vern Bothwell and I saw in the Livermore area today, Dec. 20:

Cassin's Kingbird - 200 yards west of the south end of the public part of South Greenville Road, perched on the telephone wires. All of my previous sightings have been between early February and late September.

Eurasian Wigeon - two males at the Las Positas Golf Course next to Airport Way just south of Highway 580. They were visible from Clubhouse Road about 200 yards west of Airport Road. Trespassing on the golf course is not allowed.

Wood Ducks - a pair in Arroyo Laguna Creek just upstream of the Verona Bridge, accessible from either of the Pleasanton-Sunol roads.

Spoted Sandpiper - at the Pleasanton Detention Ponds at the west end of Valley Road in Pleasanton.

Blue-winged Teal - a male in the Saddleback Pond at the intersection of Ames and Dalton, at the north end of Broadmore Street in springtown.

Marsh Wren - two in the creek downstream of the bridge on SPringtown Blvd. one mile north of highway 580.

Common Yellowthroat - one male in the creek downstream of the bridge on Springtown Blvd. one mile north of highway 580
