The Solitaire flew into the Madrone about 10 minutes after Dave Quady gave up this morning (10:45) at Jewell Lake, Tilden Park. It perched for a long time near the top of the tree. The tree's berries also attracted a SWAINSON'S THRUSH and Robins of course. Nearby was a WRENTIT and two male PURPLE FINCHES. Walking in and out I saw a BEWICK'S WREN, DOWNY WOODPECKER, male RED BREASTED SAPSUCKER, and a HUTTON'S VIREO. Also hear was a GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLET.
