    Greetings Birders.
Today at Brushy Peak RP in Livermore, in the pond along the east leg of the West Loop Trail, I had a female HOODED MERGANSER.?? Also present in the pond were about 7 Buffleheads and 1 Mallard.? An immature Cooper's Hawk was perched next to the pond.
Raptor activity was surprisingly sparse.? Walking the West Loop Trail I saw a number of Red-tails and a couple of Kestrels.? Period.? This is the first time I've been to Brushy and not seen several Golden Eagles.
On the way I stopped at the Altamont Creek Trail where there was little water?or bird activity.? Frick Lake is still dry.
    Good birding,
