Yesterday about 3 p.m., observed one Heermann's Gull (first one ever, will add to life list) sitting on top of a post near garbage cans at beginning of the pier.  It had a deeply orange hued bill. Also spotted 4 loons, but was unable to positively ID species as light reflecting off the surface of the water was blinding.  The loons were on both sides of the pier between Skates and the pier on north side.
