    Hi East Bay Birders,
If you see any color-banded white-crowned sparrows, please note the
location and color band sequence on each leg, and forward that
information onto Aaron Clark ascaphus at u.washington.edu.

Aaron is doing graduate research at the University of Washington
studying the wintering biology of migrant and non-migrant
white-crowned sparrows. This study will uncover many of the early
evolutionary changes in a bird species complex that is adapting to
factors such as urbanization and climate change by way of changes to
the migratory phenotype. The results will help predict which bird taxa
will be least able to adapt to a changing landscape and hopefully help
to direct conservation efforts effectively toward those groups most in
    need.

    Thanks!
    Gina
