Tonight on my way home from work, there was a flock of 11 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE circling above Ohlone College and Newark Memorial High School looking for a place to land. I pulled into the parking lot at Ohlone and the geese appeared to land on the football field across the road. I walked the open fields west of the college finding dozens of SAVANNAH SPARROWS, WESTERN MEADOWLARK, 1 SAY'S PHOEBE, and a single hen RING-NECKED PHEASANT. There were also about 18 KILLDEER in the field and small pond near the railroad tracks.
There was also a HOUSE WREN in the butterfly garden at Coyote Hills today at lunchtime.
