    Hi all,

    On my walk to Frank's Dump around 12:30pm today, I encountered 3 birders who
    had seen the SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER earlier. I also saw Kathy Parker walking
    out and heard she had been successful. The three birders said it was along
    both sides of the trail-on the rocks in the Bay and in the pickleweed toward
    Frank Dump's pond. However, when I arrived, I met up with Kathy Robertson
    and Bob Dunn - Kathy had just missed the bird after a couple had apparently
    gotten too close and flushed it. They did not watch where it flew but
    thought it flew south. It was first seen today in the north west corner of
    Frank's Dump before being flushed into the marsh north by a bike rider;
    luckily it returned (so I understand, as I was not there.) Sounds like it
    gets spooked pretty easily.

    Kathy and I walked up and down Frank's Dump, Kathy scoping, until 2pm. I
    walked on south around Hayward Landing-no sign.

    We did have a nice raptor day - White-tailed Kite, Merlin, Peregrine and
    Osprey. Also saw 3 American Pipits in the NW corner of the dump. I saw a
    Glaucous-winged Gull at Hayward Landing. One Forster's Tern at FDump.
    Shorebirds: Marbled Godwits, Willets, Black-bellied Plovers, Dunlin, peeps,
    BN stilts and American Avocets.
