Yesterday (10/3) in late afternoon, it was a rare, calm day on the bay outlet of the San Leandro Channel (between Alameda and Bay Farm Islands).  It brought in Brown Pelicans in large numbers diving for food.

One of the hunting adults was being trailed constantly by a Heerman's Gull...a rare sight in the channel.

Managed a shot of a juvenile just about to plunge for a catch...
