Around noon today, Thursday, we saw at least eight LEWIS'S WOODPECKERS
at the Walnut Staging area at Los Vaqueros Watershed, eastern CC County.
This staging area is at the north entrance kiosk to the Watershed. An
entrance fee is requested. The birds were in several trees along the dry
creek bed, through the gate and across the bridge at the staging area
but were moving around and at least two flew off to the south.

We saw a flyby PRAIRIE FALCON below the dam. A BURROWING OWL was spotted
uphill of the entrance road about a half mile west of the entrance
kiosk. Later, in the vicinity of the Byron airport, we saw five
    FERRUGINOUS HAWKS.
