Hello Birders. This is Stephanie, the Outreach and Programs Coordinator for the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory.
I am writing to let you know that the Bird Observatory's 12th Annual California Fall Challenge is about to begin this Saturday.? This is the Bird Observatory's only fundraiser and it supports our programs that apply science to the conservation of birds and their habitats around the bay.

The California Fall Challenge is a classic "birdathon" event, much like a walk-a-thon. Participants gather pledges from friends, family and co-workers and then count the number of bird species they hear or see in a 24-hour period, within one California county. This birdathon takes place any time between September 13th and October 12th.

There are many ways in which you can show your support.
You can join a guided trip or event that we have already arranged for you or you can lead your own birding team.?Fall Challenge fundraisers are up for some incredible prizes too...
