    Hello E.B. Birders,

There was an American Redstart (non-adult male) in the Monterey pines along the service road to the north of the visitor center at Tilden Nature Area today. It was first seen about 11:45 am, high in the upper branches. l, at 2:00 pm, the bird had moved to the Douglas Firs near the beginning of the Upper Pack-rat Trail. I was able to look down on the the bird from this trail. This bird was rather easy to locate and follow due to the constant tail fanning and very active feeding.

Two Willow Flycatchers were along Wildcat Gorge Trail and there was also one along the Upper Pack-rat Trail. There were at least 20-30 Warbling Vireos during the course of my walk from Lake Anza to Jewel Lake, most found in areas with abundant dogwood berries. Also lots of expected western migrants and resident species.

    All the Best Birding,
