    Not an answer - but I saw a similar bird from the California Zephyr last 
    month: dark, but with a bright brown shawl. Mine had a pretty good crest 
    and the body seemed dark blue. It was in either the Rockies or the 
    Sierras - the sort of thing that seems obviously memorable at the time, 
    and totally forgettable afterward....
    
    Juvie Steller's sounds reasonable. Anyone know?
