    Hi E.B. Birders,

Tim Howe found a male Summer Tanager yesterday at
Valle Vista Staging Area in Moraga (EBMUD permit
required). Tim emailed that he was unable to post his
sighting, and asked I would see if I could relocate
the bird. Hopefully, Tim's post will be approved for
    all to read.

I re-found the bird this morning at 7:45 am, and left
at 8:30 am while the bird was still in view.

There was also a Hermit Warbler in the pines, and many
other interesting birds eating the fruit .

I have posted a "not so great" image of the Summer
Tanager and the habitat on Flickr:

    >From the parking lot, head downhill toward the
reservoir, and take the trail to the left that leads
into the pines. The tanager was foraging in the fruit
trees that look like miniature plums, and also perched
low in the Monterey Pines which separate the trail
from Canyon Road. This area is west of the main
    bridge.

Thanks, Tim, for a very nice Contra Costa County bird!
