    Hi E.B. Birders,

I spent most of the day in west Contra Costa along the
waterfront.? Nothing unusual, but a few interesting
    sightings.

    Pinole Shoreline (Bayfront Park):
Red-necked Phalarope - 1 foraging on the mudflat for
    45 minutes.
Least Tern - 3 with Forster's Terns by the creek
    mouth.
Osprey - 2 standing about 50 feet apart, also by the
    creek mouth.

    Meeker Slough area:
Wilson's Phalarope - 2 came in calling, landed briefly
on the pond behind the trail, then headed south.
Common Murre - 3 total, on the open water and later
in the slough channel to the east.
Black Oystercatcher - 9 in one flock just west of the
dilapidated pier. Nice to see their numbers
    increasing.
Also, many additional expected shorebirds species,
adults and juveniles.? Thirty Semipalmated Plovers in
the ponds was fun to see, too.

    All the Best Birding,
