This morning Fred Safier and I found a Wilson's Warbler which we had been
hearing near the gravel boat ramp.

He told me about seeing a Western Tanager yesterday and after Fred left I
found one in a Eucalyptus to the right of the boat ramp.

We talked about the now missing Bushtit nest on the west side of the pond.
It was there Sunday, but not Tuesday. Fred showed me a Bushtit nest across
the little canal and near the base of the large scraggily Oak. The nest is
just a little to the right of the trunk in a small Olive tree.

The Nuttall's chick is nearly falling out of the hole when the parents come
feed it. It is so aggressive that about half of the insect the adult brings
is knocked away and falls uneaten.
