    Hi E.B. Birders,

I was out in East Contra Costa Co. this morning to see
if I could find Yellow-breasted Chat and Blue
Grosbeak.? No luck seeing or hearing the chat, but I
got a photo of a male Blue Grosbeak on a fence wire
next to the road. The three birds I saw were beyond
the golf course, on the electrical wires that run
along the east side of the road, and in the bushes
along the road adjacent to where they are paling the
    hay.

Blue Grosbeaks are an expected species along Bethel
Island Road. This area is written up in Steve Glover's
guide to finding birds in Contra Costa Co.

Wow, there sure are a lot of "sightings" posts to
check through these days!? I don't think I've read
that someone has seen BLGR in CC Co. this year....but
I could have easily missed that. If anyone else has
seen on this year in Contra Costa Co., let me know the
date and location, and I'll pass it on to Bob Lewis
    for posting.
