The wind blew in a special present today!

I saw two black skimmers standing on an exposed mudflat just west of
the Bay Trail, 0.3 miles south of Meeker Slough, 0.2 miles north of the
51st Street access point. This was between 5:40 and 6:10pm on Sunday.

I had my low quality binoculars when I first saw them but the skimmers
were still there 20 minutes later when I returned with my good binoculars.

They were unmistakeable. The wind was howling and perhaps they were
taking some shelter. This is only the second time I have ever seen
black skimmers and it was a real treat. The prior time I had seen a
black skimmer was in flight in the same area, last year or the year
before. That sighting was ever so brief. This time I got to spend a
little while with them till the wind got to be too much for me.
