This morning my wife, Rosita, and I made a quick trip to the west side of
Briones Regional Park. We had 40 species and were home in Walnut Creek by
about 10 AM. We walked the road towards the archery range. Highlights
include: 3 Great Blue Herons flying towards Martinez, a Selasphorus hummer,
a heard Pacific-slope Flycatcher, a heard Hammond's/Dusky type call (just
once), a singing Warbling Vireo, a singing Ruby-crowned Kinglet,
    Orange-crowned, Wilson's and Yellow-rumped Warblers, a beautiful singing
Black-headed Grosbeak and a large flock of Cedar Waxwings working through
the Madrone trees. Oh, we spotted a Robin building a nest over the trail
through the trees to the corral.
