I've been walking my dog at Sibley Regional Park many mornings and I have
enjoyed hearing and seeing birds as we walk. Of note, I have been impressed
with the good numbers of California quail that seem to be present. I also
have seen one of the Golden eagles on occasion. Lark sparrows are vocal and
easy to see, and a couple of times I have seen Rufous-crowned sparrows.

I have seen no Lazuli buntings there yet (though I did see them along Mines
Road on April 12). I expect that a whole spate of them will burst through
Sibley sometime soon, with a few sticking around to nest.

There is a very loud House wren and a nest on the protected south side of
the peak at Sibley. Today it was surprisingly cold at the park, and it was
not surprising that in much of the area the birds were mainly quiet, but on
that warmer south flank of the peak things were more lively. There were
quite a few Orange-crowned and Wilson's warblers, and for me the highlight
was a half-dozen busy salasphorus hummingbirds, including at least one
    gorgeous male Rufous.

As of today, the last of the Golden-crowned sparrows appear to have
    departed.
