[EBB Sightings] Black Scoter continued at Richmond Marina (Sunday) + Horned Grebes in alternate plumage

Determined to get a better shot of the Black Scoter in Richmond, I went up
there early Sunday afternoon, and encountered Alex Navarro who pointed out
the bird to me and showed me his nice photos of it.? ?

I eventually got some shots of it later in the afternoon (better than my
previous photo) as well as some photos of beautiful Horned Grebes in
alternate plumage. No long-tailed duck in evidence.??? The scoter was again
more easily visible from the western side of the harbor and remained
moderately far out towards the middle of the harbor.

Good weather and a black scoter makes for a nice afternoon birding!
