[EBB Sightings] Brant on the Bay - ALA

Hi birders,

I went to the Emeryville  Marina/fishing pier on my lunch hour today 
(3/21/08) in search of the  female Black Scoter reported a couple of days ago.  No 
scoter, but scoping  north from the point that is just west of the pier, I did 
find three  BRANT.  There were also at least two Red-throated Loons (one right 
next to  the pier) and one male Red-breasted Merganser in the area.  There was 
a  very distant loon that I tried to turn into a Pacific, but it was just too 
far  away, the water too choppy, and my time too short to study it  adequately.

(The marina/pier are located at the very west end of Powell  St. off of I-80.)
