Today at noon I saw a pair of Red-breasted Sapsuckers
at William Cann Memorial Park in Union City. This
little park is on Marsh Hawk Rd. between Hop Ranch &
Dowe Rd. south of Alvarado Niles Rd. There is a tree
near the top of Alameda Creek levee in the "Y" the
paved trail makes from the park as it goes up on the
levee. This tree has several rows of sap wells
drilled. The Sapsuckers were on this tree or one of
the 2 smaller, similar trees on the other side of the
    levee trail.
Also seen nearby in the trees around where Union City
creek pools at a drain was a pair of Townsend's
    Warblers.
