[EBB Sightings] Woodpecker/sapsucker id question

What looked like a red-naped sapsucker was vandalizing
the tops of several PG&E power poles around 7AM at
Laurel and California St. However its drumming was
pretty sustained, so maybe it's a Nuttalls' instead?.
The markings seem sapsucker to my untrained eye but I
did not notice any red on the front of its throat,
just on it's crown. Hadn't done an early walk like
this in a long time so I don't know if it's a regular.
I'll have to bring the big binoculars next time.
