    EBB Birders,

Late yesterday afternoon, Monday, March 3, my wife Adele and I saw the following interesting birds north of I-580.

A male Blue-winged Teal in the north end of Frick Lake on Laughlin Road, at about 5:30 p.m. (no gulls).
This may be the same individual seen ~2 weeks ago in Saddleback Pond, at the intersection of Dalton and Ames.

A pair of Burrowing Owls in the field east of Dagnino Road, seen from between the 4th and 5th telephone poles north of Raymond Road. This has been a regular Burrowing Owl spot for years.

About 80 Long-billed Curlews in the fields south of May School Road. I have been seeing them in that general area for about a week.

A Short-eared Owl flying back and forth in the fields south of the intersection of Hartford and Lorraine Avenues, at 5:58 p.m., just as the sun disappeared behind the hills to the west.
