I am forwarding the message below from Brian Fitch who has difficulty
posting to this listserve. If you have questions or comments, please
send them directly to Brian at: fogeggs at aol.com

I took a long hike along the Wildcat Peak Trail and the Conlan Trail
yesterday (3/3), and found 95 Wild Turkeys in two large groups (43, 52).
One was off the Nimitz, but visible from Conlan, the other was
adjacent to Conlan; both sites were along the respective ridges less
than half a mile north of Wildcat Peak. Both flocks were grazing like
feathered cattle, and the Conlan group was very approachable.

I haven't been following turkey postings, so if this is not a strikingly
high number compared to what others have been seeing, then please don't
forward the message. It's certainly far beyond anything I've ever seen
    anywhere in the U.S.

    Brian
