Joel Goldman and I had good looks at the Lapland Longspur at the
Hayward Regional Shoreline about 12:30 PM. He was with a group of
horned larks on the top of the hill to the right next to the trail
about 200 yards from the parking lot. It's worth taking a scope, as
bird is small and hangs out behind low bushes.

We also saw the clay- colored sparrow at the feeder and in a bush by the
fence behind the feeder in Chuck Woodrum's front yard in Fremont about
3PM today, after waiting for almost an hour. Many thanks to Chuck for
generously sharing his find by sending Joel detailed instructions last
    night.
