This morning, a Bewick's wren was calling lustily from
atop a tree across the street from my house in an
ordinary residential area in Fremont.  I've never seen
one here before.  It came out into the open, tilted
its head back, twitched its tail up, and carried on,
reminding me of the cactus wrens I've seen in Arizona.
 What a nice surprise!
