Jim Ross of Pleasanton and I made east to west Patterson Pass count during
the noon hour.
Weather conditions; light rain drizzle, windy, cold
Three Golden Eagles
Twenty Red Tail Hawks - three rufous morph type
Three Turkey Vultures
One Peregrine Falcon
Nine American Kestrels
Nine Savanna Sparrows
Mountain Blue Birds not found
Nine Loggerhead Shrikes
There are many turbines being dismantle per the settlement reached by the
Audubon Law suit of 2006.
Other turbines not running are part of a winter moratorium (ninety day) for
concentration of migrating raptors and eagles.
