This rainy morning (Sat, Feb 2), the BRANT continued at Miller-Knox
Regional Shoreline in Richmond. He was foraging with Canada Geese on
the lawn by the first parking lot. There were unusual numbers of
shorebirds sheltered around the lagoon, although we found nothing
more interesting than a Semipalmated Plover.

I think the Brant must have imprinted on Canada Geese. He hangs out
with them. He feeds like them. And when the Canadas started
honking, he raised his little head in the air and let out a nasal
    chortle-honk: bup-b-b-b-bwong! Silly and sad.

    Good birding,
