    Hi, all.
I spent time late yesterday afternoon (till dusk)
and mid-morning today around Cedar & La Loma, but saw
nothing of the tanager. I did note that Sibley says
that summers can sound somewhat similar to a
robin--and I did hear something that I thought was
probably a robin, but it might have been a little
different. There were other unidentified calls in the
    thick trees.
      I did see:
    hermit thrush
    American goldfinch
    Oregon junco
    house finch (?)
    mourning dove
    jays--scrub & Steller's
    yellow-rumped warbler
    robin
    phoebe
possible red-shafted flicker (it was flying far off)
    California towhee
    chestnut-backed chickadee.
    Happy hunting!
