The following was seen today -

Snow Goose - 1 at San Leandro Marina.

Hooded Merganser - 1 male flew into the small pond between San Lorenzo Creek and Ora Loma Sewage Treatnent Plant. This was at dusk. This is only the 4th one that I have seen at the shoreline. The last one was 12-28-98.

Wandering Tattler - 1 at San Leandro Marina. Of the 158 times I have seen them in the area, this is the second January record.

Lesser Yellowlegs - seen in San Lorenzo Creek at low tide.Of the 158 times I have seen them, this is the 3rd January record. One of the other 2 was earlier this year.

Surfbird - 2 at San Leandro Marina.

Glaucous Gull - 1 seen from Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline. It was seen on the roof of a building in the Waste Management recycling facility. Oyster Bay is on the north end of Neptune Ave. that is reached by taking Marina Blvd. west from the feeway (I-880) in San Leandro. Neptune Ave. is a right turn just before Marina Ave. turns left 90 degrees and is called Monarch Bay Drive.
