This afternoon near 2:30 there were 5 Long-billed Curlews and a single
Whimbrel in the wet field on north Fallon and Croak Rd off of HY580 .
There was 5 Greater Yellow Legs, and two Says Phobe also.
There was an odd third smaller long billed bird behind the Whimbrel, not a
Willet. The bird was grayish color.
I didn't have my scope, so I drove home got my scope and raced back.
As I was arriving two Red Tail Hawks were making low passes over the long
billed birds. There was much noise - all sorts of warning calls.
Out of no where a juvenile Golden Eagle came into the ruckus, it landed and
the red tails turned on the sitting Eagle.
B4 I got the scope set-up all the long billed birds all escaped .
There was a nice group of Meadow Larks and Red Winged BB.
