[EBB Sightings] Black Skimmer on Richmond Bay Trail

Hi everyone

Yesterday, January 23, I birded part of the Richmond Bay Trail, starting at Meeker Slough (near Marina Bay Parkway in Richmond) and saw one Black Skimmer resting on the offshore mud bank just north of the end of the dilipidated pier, in other words between Meeker Slough and (walking south) the 51st Street path.  Time 3-4 p.m. It was there the whole time, initially roosting with several avocet, later on its own.  Tide was moderately high with the water just reaching the shore.
