[EBB Sightings] Lake Merritt local interest

The storms have brought in a few birds to the lake that are not regularly
seen here.

Surf Scoters: a pair
Red-throated Loons: an adult and juvenile
Northern Shovelers: a pair
Red-breasted Merganser numbers are up: at least 4 pairs swimming around
Mew Gull numbers are up
Common Merganser still around

The usual suspects include continuing Tufted Duck, Redhead, Barrow's
Goldeneye, and the Barrow's Merganser (or is that the Hooded Goldeneye?)
