    Hello Birders!

Last summer the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory banded two adult male
northern harriers in the sloughs of Alviso. This was part of a study to see
how the harriers utilize the marsh and salt pond habitats. The two harriers
have blue circular patagial tags (wing tags) on their right shoulders and
are numbered ?1? or ?2?. Unfortunately, after we banded the birds, they
disappeared from the area and we did not see them for the remainder of the
    season.

We have heard reports that male # 1 is in the Alviso area again and male # 2
is in the Palo Alto area. If anyone sees the tagged harriers please email
me, Caitlin Robinson, at crobinson at sfbbo.org with the date and location of
where the birds were seen. Also, please record what type of habitat the
birds are in (marsh, slough, salt pond, upland) if possible. We are very
interested in where they have gone and what habitats they?re using!

    Thank you very much!
