    Great picture, Alex.
I also went to see the kingbird yesterday, but,
alas, to no avail. I was there rather late in the day,
3:00 or so, and the wind had come up, so activity in
the area was down a bit.
I did see good sized groups of canvasbacks and
northern shovelers on the large pond south of the
Winton access. I was amused by the fact that virtually
all of the canvasbacks were sleeping, or trying to,
while all of the shovelers were quite busy nosing
around in the water feeding. To each its own, I guess.
    Also seen,
    Canada goose
    snow goose (4)
    northern harrier
    mallard
    white-tailed kite
    western meadowlark
    white-crowned sparrow
    American pipit (almost positive)
    greater yellowlegs (?)
It was getting dark by the time I saw some of these,
    making positive ID difficult.
    Cheers,
    Alan Howe
