Has anyone else seen any white wild turkeys? We are seeing a flock of
approximately sixty birds this winter that is currently landing above
our property in Alhambra Valley, then proceeding to squawk and chase
each other around in a manner that resembles mating behavior.

In the flock of usual dark birds, there are two that are distinctly
white in the neck, breast and upper back. These are not simply dark
turkeys with white edges on their tails as described in Sibley as the
Southwestern variety of wild turkey. Nor are they an albino variety, as
the tail and wing feathers are definitely striped.

Unfortunately, these birds are staying too distant for a good photo op.
