    Hi everyone:

Lillian Fujii and I were out at Miller Knox yesterday afternoon (Dec.9) and saw two oiled birds in one of the ponds: a Black-bellied Plover and a Willet, plus a dead Cormorant in the pond water which was retrieved while we were there by an East Bay Parks Ranger, who said the bird did not appear oiled and that "dead cormorants were often found there."

Also in the Bay off the park we saw an oiled loon, and oiled Goldeneye. At ferry point fisherman had just seen a dead bird but we not able to re-locate it. So if you are out there please keep an eye open for continuing oiled/dead birds and report them to GGAS.

Yesterday morning, we also found a dea, banded female scoter in the Richmond Marina, which was picked up and band number reported, and a distressed female Goldeneye in the marina, which was in line to be picked up today. We had been told by someone living on one of the boats that she was seeing dead and sick birds and, worse, gulls attacking weakened birds.
