[EBB Sightings] Hayward Shoreline 12/23/07

Today, about half an hour after high tide, Peter Dramer and I saw 3
Short-eared Owls in Cogswell Marsh at Hayward Shoreline. They were mostly
seen in the southeast section of the marsh; south of the long bridge and
east of the trail which heads south from the south end of the bridge. The
high tide today was 9.2', an extreme high for the area, at 10:43 am.
Tomorrow's high will be 9.1' at 11:32 am.

We also saw the Tropical Kingbird at about 1:45 pm in the usual location at
the end of West Winton Ave. It was in the bare Sycamore trees behind the
wires.
