Just a little news about what has been seen in the park.

Mixed in with the 200 + Canada Geese are two Cackling Geese (minima). They
have been on the ball fields nearest Ygnacio Valley Road as well as on the
    main lawn.

Yesterday, 11/27, there were 7 Wild Turkeys near the Garden Center.

A Fox Sparrow and two Lincoln's Sparrows (Fred Safier) have been at the far
northeast corner near the foot bridge over the Contra Costa Canal. Up to 5
Lark Sparrows have been seen near the bottom of the big hill west of the
    ponds.

An immature Cooper's Hawk and adult Red-shouldered and Red-tailed Hawks are
    seen sporadically.

Ring-necked Ducks and Buffleheads have joined the 80 + Coots on the main
natural pond. One Common Moorhen is seen occasionally.

In addition, today Fred had a Merlin on Homestead, over the hill and west of
    the park.

At least 12 California Gulls have been on either the south ball fields or
    near the cement pond.
